Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Pastor Roniel Saint Fleur

Today, we gather with heavy hearts to celebrate the extraordinary life of Pastor Roniel Saint Fleur, who lived as a devoted husband, loving father, faithful pastor, and most importantly, God-fearing servant.

Pastor Roniel Saint Fleur was born on March 10, 1945, in Garde-Cognac, the 5th communal section of Camp Coq in the commune of Limbè, Haiti, to Dorima Saint Fleur and Nerisia Predestin. He was the eldest of two children, followed by his younger brother Dieufete, who preceded him in death. As a youth, Roniel had to carry a heavy burden, losing both of his parents at the age of 18 and being left solely responsible for taking care of himself and his younger brother. However, no matter how daunting, he still prevailed amongst all obstacles.

In 1970, he moved to Port-au-Prince in search of a better life. In 1973, God called Roniel to the Lord's ministry. He registered for a 4-year theology program at the Institut Biblique Assemblée de Dieu. In 1977, Roniel graduated from his theology program. From there, Roniel pastored Église Pétion-Ville DuPont, Piron, and La Boule. In 1983, he was transferred to Terrier-Rouge in Northeast Haiti. He spent a total of 14 years pastoring for this church community. In 1996, he was transferred again to Limbe, where he spent 2 years as the pastor. In 1998, he came to the United States, where he continued his ministry.

In the year 2002, he founded the church formerly known as 2eme Eglise de Dieu. Through countless prayers and numerous sacrifices, Roniel shepherded the congregation with love and dedication. In July of 2011, the church was officially reincorporated in the State of Florida as Assemblée Évangélique Haïtienne de Winter Haven. While serving in ministry, Pastor Roniel was a firm believer that the Church was more than a building; it was a family called to love God and reach souls. This was shown in how he lived his day-to-day life. He visited the sick, encouraged the discouraged, preached with conviction, and welcomed all guests with open arms. He lived as a true servant, placing God's kingdom above his own comfort.

For Roniel, his ministry was never about titles or recognition; it was always centered on serving God and loving God’s people. For anyone who met Pastor Roniel, they were able to witness this approach firsthand through his compassion, humility, and resilient faith.

Although God was always the primary focus of his life, Roniel also made time for love. While serving in 1977, Roniel met and began dating the love of his life, Rose Immaculate Saint Fleur. The next year, the two would get married on January 7th, 1978. Together they built a beautiful home rooted in faith, love, selflessness, and care. Their relationship and love for each other serve as a strong example of what a God-fearing couple should look like. During their 48 years of marriage, the Lord blessed them with nine children, each carrying a part of their legacy.

Peterson, Phaniel, Daniel, Marie Junie, Joby, and Rony, as well as 3 children who preceded him in death: Roselande, Josué, and Ruth. He was also blessed to have amazing children-in-law in Nadlie, Chantale, and Allen.

His legacy is also continued through his fourteen beloved grandchildren. Stanley, Phiferson, Pierson, Nayelie, Julien, Julissa, Rose Phalynn, Jacob, Jaxon, Delani, Ryan, and Allana, as well as his granddaughter-in-law Brianna and adoptive granddaughter Islande. Although they were numerous, each one held a special place in his heart and got to have a personal relationship with their grandpa.

For those who got to know Roniel in his later years, you would know that today was a day he diligently prayed for. He often expressed a passionate desire to go home to the Lord by the age of seventy-five and on a Sunday, the Lord's Day, after he finished preaching. However, God had a different plan for his life. On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 9:30 am at the age of 81, the Lord gently called His faithful servant home. A truly fitting way for a pastor who dedicated his life to worshiping and serving Christ to enter into eternity on the Lord's Day.

Today we are mourning because we loved him deeply. Yet we do not grieve as those who have no hope. We rejoice because we know Pastor Roniel is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and served faithfully.

As we honor his memory today, may we commit ourselves to carrying forward the faith he lived so courageously. Pastor Roniel Saint Fleur leaves us with a legacy that cannot be measured by years alone, but by souls touched, lives transformed, and generations inspired to follow Christ.

Finally, let us take comfort in the promises of the Lord in which he cherished:

(Psalm 46:1) "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

(Romans 8:31) "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

And now we say, "Rest well, you faithful servant."

Your race is finished. Your labor is complete. Your crown awaits you. Until we meet again in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
