It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger "Kool-Aid" Williams, who peacefully departed this world on November 27, 2025, in Winter Haven, Florida, at the age of 69. Born on February 16, 1956, in Thomasville, Georgia, Roger led a life filled with rich experiences, love, and an unwavering spirit.
A dedicated worker, Roger built a career as a forklift driver with Florida Natural and a semi truck driver, earning respect for his reliability and commitment. His work ethic was matched only by his talents outside of work; Roger had a profound love for math, art, and gardening, often finding solace and satisfaction in cultivating his plants and tending to his yard. Nothing brought him more joy than grilling and spending quality time with his beloved dogs and grandkids, whom he adored fiercely.
Roger was known for his warm personality, often characterized by his infectious sense of humor and a remarkable ability to lighten any room he entered. He lived by the principle that a good laugh could brighten any day and, remarkably, he never complained, even in challenging times. His playful belief that cutting his hair would cause him to lose his strength was a testament to his spirited nature and unique outlook on life.
He leaves behind a loving family who will remember him for his unwavering support and affection. Roger is survived by his cherished children, Roger Williams Jr., Rodney Williams, Maurice Williams, Cerrita Williams, and Sabrina Williams-Winfield. His legacy continues with his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, ten bright lights in his life. He is also survived by his brothers: CD Williams, Ralph Williams, Wesley Williams, Leroy Williams, John Williams, Ronnie Williams, and Derrel Williams, along with his sisters, Gloria Benton and Joann Henry.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Williams and Gussie Williams, as well as his siblings: Willie Williams, Donnie Williams, and Mamie Bell. Each of these departed loved ones undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
As we gather to celebrate his life, a visitation will be held on December 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Family Church in Lake Wales, Florida. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place on December 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Haven Worship Center in Winter Haven, culminating in a burial at Lake Wales Memorial Gardens at 12:00 PM.
Roger "Kool-Aid" Williams will be remembered not just for his work or his hobbies but for the life he lived and the love he shared. His spirit will live on through the memories he created with his family and friends, a legacy of laughter, love, and determination. The world is a little dimmer without him, but those who knew him can take comfort in the joy he brought into their lives.
