Patricia “Patty” Ellen Scoggins-Jones, 57, of Haines City, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 24, 2022 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on July 22, 2022. She was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on January 25, 1965 and attended Leominster High School. She is predeceased by her parents Mervin and Paulette (Remy) Scoggins. She is the mother of Molly Ann Jones who was also tragically lost as a result of the aforementioned car accident. She is survived by her husband Delbert Earl Jones, daughters Jessica DelleChiaie and Ellie Paulette Jones and her grandson Logan DelleChiaie, her brothers Kevin Scoggins, David Scoggins, Andrew Scoggins, and sisters Denise Ehnstrom, Paula Cain and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Massachusetts, Florida, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.
She was a lover of all animals including their dog Cori, goats Doedy and Sqweekers, duck Earl the Girl, and horses Luna and Dobber, and took great care and love with them daily. She enjoyed going to the casinos, thrift shopping, entertaining and feeding family and friends, organizing group adventures near and far and making the farm house a home filled with memories and love. She was an avid Tampa Bay Lightning hockey fan and was always the first to speak up and tell the players to “Shoot the puck”! She was self-less and incredibly generous with anyone or anything that she could help with—whether they “needed” it or not—no one ever had to ask. Over the years she stepped up and volunteered with a variety of organizations, including but not limited to: the local Veterans Affairs in Leominster, Girl Scouts of America in Massachusetts and Florida, and Awana and Vacation Bible Schools at the many churches she attended. Her and Delbert celebrated their 25th anniversary this year on January 11, 2022. Patty was a fighter and a lover, will be missed by many, and her legacy will live on through the many traditions she set and recipes she passed on.
A private service announcement will be made at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice, do small acts of kindness, help your neighbors, give your pet an extra treat- all in Patty’s honor.
