With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jose Luis Velazquez, lovingly known as
Geowie (pronounced Joey). He was a man whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on
everyone he met. Jose’s approachable nature made him a friend to many, and his colleagues at
Noble Pharmaceutical Company often described him as part of their extended family. As Logistics
and Inventory Specialist 3, Jose took great pride in his work. He graduated with a degree in
Computer Drafting & Design in 2009. He loved his job at Noble and all his co-workers, cherishing the
relationships he built throughout his career.
Jose’s life was defined by his devotion to family. He was a proud father to four sons—Luis Javier
Velazquez (28), Zion Velazquez (21), Elijah Velazquez (14), and Ezequiel Velazquez (13). He raised
his children with unwavering love, teaching them to work hard, pursue success, and seek the Lord
with all their hearts. His wife, Sonia DeJesus, was his anchor and confidant, providing steadfast
support through every chapter of life. She was a source of strength for Jose, and he often expressed
that God had placed her in his life. He also had a stepson, Samuel Cordoves, whom he loved very
much and to whom he offered heartfelt guidance and support. Their bond was special—Samuel
affectionately called him "teddy bear.”
Those closest to Jose remember him as a family man who always put his loved ones first. He
cherished moments of unity, whether it was a simple family dinner or a larger gathering with
extended relatives. His joy was contagious, and he made it a priority to nurture strong bonds among
his children, siblings, and friends.
Jose’s passion for cars was legendary. He took immense pride in his Red Ford Mustang GT 5.0 and
his Orange Hayabusa Motorcycle, spending countless hours building, maintaining, and racing them.
Friends recall his excitement when talking about his latest automotive project or sharing stories from
the racetrack. For Jose, cars were more than a hobby—they were a way to connect with others and
express his creativity.
He is survived by his father, Jose E. Velazquez Sr., and his wife Betsy Velazquez; He was
predeceased by his mother, Gloria Velazquez, whose memory he held dear and close to his heart.
Survived by his brother Jose E. Velazquez Jr. and sister-in-law Maritza Velazquez; his sister
Glorymar Ramos and brother-in-law Oz Ramos; his sister Vanessa Roman and brother-in-law
Christian Roman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Jose will be remembered for his generosity, his laughter, and his unwavering commitment to those
he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will continue to
inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
