Jorge Arturo Alfaro, age 70, entered into eternal rest on April 4th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on February 17th, 1956 in San Jose, Costa Rica, Jorge made his home in New Jersey, where he built his life and legacy. He initially enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving his country as an 0451 Airborne and Air Delivery Specialist, and achieving the rank of Sergeant. His service was marked by discipline, courage, and commitment.
Following his time in the military, Jorge went on to become a professional truck driver, a career he dedicated himself to with hard work and perseverance. He later retired to Davenport, Florida, where he spent his final years.
Jorge was a man whose presence could light up any room. Known for his joyful spirit and sense of humor, he was truly a jokester in the most loving way—always making others laugh and feel at ease. He was empathetic, kind, generous, and deeply loved by all who had the blessing of knowing him. His favorite saying, “Yam-saying,” became a signature part of who he was, leaving smiles and lasting memories.
Above all, Jorge was a man of unwavering faith, and his relationship with the Lord was like none other. He was devoted to his church, his pastor, and his church family, finding great joy in worship and fellowship. He also had a deep love for music, especially playing his trumpet—an instrument through which he expressed both his joy and his faith.
He cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife, Madelyn; his loving children, Shirley, Christopher, Vera, and Hector; his son-in-law, Joshua; his daughters-in-law, Nicole and Jennifer; his cherished grandchildren, Liam, Lily, Leila, Kaylani, Camila, Tony Jr., Jonathan, Justin, and Evrin; his great-grandchildren, Antonio and Stella; his mother, Vera; and his brothers, Maurice and Gardner.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Nelson, his sister, Annie, and his father, Nelson.
Jorge’s life was a testament to love, faith, service, and joy. While his presence will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord, at peace and rejoicing in eternal life.
