Jonita Philtrece Williams

Jonita Philtrece Williams, born on March 4, 1969, passed away on August 22, 2026. She will be remembered as a caring, loving, and high-spirited woman whose presence brought warmth and energy to those around her.

In her early years, Jonita was a choir member of CCIA, a reflection of the spirit and involvement that would remain with her throughout her life. She was talkative, outgoing, and deeply engaged with the people around her. Jonita never met a stranger. She had a lot to say and shared herself freely, meeting life with persistence, courage, and knowledge. She was the kind of person who would tackle hard jobs and work until they were conquered, leaving an impression through both her strength and her determination.

Jonita also found great purpose in her work and took pride in the difference she made. Among her proudest accomplishments were being named Teacher of the Year, serving as a Math Coach, and being honored as Best Teacher by her students. These recognitions speak not only to her talent, but also to the lasting impact she had on the lives of those she taught and encouraged.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Sean Williams, her husband of 23 years; her son, Philip Milton; her mother, Josephine Howard; and her brother Phillip Howard Jr. Each of them carries forward the love, strength, and bright spirit that Jonita shared so generously. She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip Howard Sr.

A memorial service will be held on September 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 200 Ave R NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.

Jonita Philtrece Williams will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her caring heart, her courageous spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of so many.
