Jane M Hull

October 23, 1925 — January 3, 2023

Jane Margaret Hull (Waddle) age 97 died peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Waddle and Eva Hoffman, husband Ernest Hull and brothers Charles and Richard Waddle (Ruby).

Jane was born in Blairsville, PA on October 23, 1925. She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1943. She was active in the French Club, President of the Ushers, and Identification editor for the school yearbook.

She worked as a supervisor in a sewing company that produced children’s clothes. During war time she worked in a hand grenade factory. That is where she met her future husband, Ernest.

They were married and eventually moved to Michigan. Jane was pregnant with her daughter Debbie, and they settled in Ypsilanti. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. She went to work for Eastern Michigan University and ended up retiring there after many years of service. In 2018 Jane moved to Florida with her daughter and son in law.

Jane was always known for her quick wit and humor. She always had a way of making people smile and laugh. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, The Hallmark Channel and she and her daughter would watch Wheel of Fortune every night. She loved exploring with her daughter.

She would do anything for her family and friends. She dearly loved her daughter (Debbie) and granddaughter (Stephanie), They were the light of her life!

Her sister Kathryn and her would talk every day. She looked forward to hearing from her. They were best friends.

Jane is survived by her daughter Debra Reynolds (Joseph), granddaughter Stephanie Reynolds, her beloved sister Kathryn Grater (Blair), and her nephew Alan Grater whom she loved like a son, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions instead be made to either Give Kids the World, Alzheimer's Association, or your favorite charity.
