Israel Nieves, a beloved husband, father, and steadfast pillar of his family, passed away on April 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. Born on June 10, 1936, Israel’s life was a testament to resilience and devotion, shaped by the early necessity to work in place of formal education. From shining shoes as a child to supervising a food factory for eleven years, he embraced every role with humility and a fierce commitment to provide for those he held most dear.
A man known for his big heart and sharp sense of humor, Israel was often remembered as a big-time comedian whose lively spirit could light up a room. Colleagues and family alike cherished his warmth, generosity, and the bright laughter he brought into every moment. Deeply loving and devoted, Israel always put his wife and children first, embodying the true essence of family care and unity.
Religious faith was a cornerstone in Israel's life; he found great joy and solace in attending church regularly. Beyond his faith, some of his happiest moments were spent sharing quiet times with his wife Yolanda, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage, and visiting his ten children—two sons and eight daughters—whose lives he enriched immeasurably. His family was his world, a source of immense pride and boundless affection.
Israel was born to Daniel Nieves and Julia Morales, now lovingly remembered. He also was blessed with a large extended family, including 14 siblings who shared upbringing and enduring bonds.
He leaves behind his treasured wife Yolanda Nieves and their 15 children, the living continuance of his love and life’s work. He raised a total of 15 children. He’s very loved from her family that her nieces and nephews are his as well. All of my mom’s siblings became his siblings as well. He lived his last years in Florida and enjoying seeing all of his grandchildren, enjoying their visits and family events.
Families and friends seeking to honor Israel’s memory are invited to a visitation on April 23, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Richard Funeral Services, located at 233 N. 9th Street, Haines City, FL 33844. Following this, his burial will be held the same day at Forest Hill Cemetery, 2646 E. Grace Avenue, Haines City, FL 33844, beginning at 5:15 PM.
As we remember Israel Nieves, we celebrate a life fully lived and a man whose loving presence touched the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering devotion endures in his family and the countless memories they cherish. Rest in peace, Israel—you will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved you.
