Apostle Elrich Bankston Sr., most affectionately known as "Shoutin' John" or "Big Bank", entered eternal rest on January 7, 2023 at the age of 58. He was born on September 9, 1964 to his parents, Matthew and Torio Bankston.
He later met the love of his life, Dianetta, and together they shared 34 years of marriage. He was a Pastor at Greater Works Ministries of Lakeland and enjoyed attending church services, singing and bowling.
Apostle Bankston Sr. is preceded in death by his mother, Torio Bankston and his brother, Matthew Bankston Jr.
Apostle Elrich Bankston Sr. leaves his devoted wife of 34 years, Dianetta Bankston; father, Matthew Bankston Sr.; son, Elrich Bankston Jr.; daughters, Jessica Richard (Brian), Dyneshia Sparks; sisters, Gloria Bankston Doyle, Terri Bankston Porter; grandsons, Zadian Bankston, Levi Richard, Jackson Richard, Jayce Smith; granddaughter, Elise Richard; sisters-in-law, Georgia Patterson (Leonard), Palamechia Vasser, Fredia Townsend (Tyrone), Doris Sealey, Shirley Vasser; brothers-in-law, Leon Vasser, Herbert Vasser, Fred Tolliver (Rita), godsister, Michelle McPlatt; goddaughter, Imani Lewis; godsons, Joseph E. Lewis, Davante' Garner, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish his legacy.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, January, 13, 2023 at First Born Church of Mulberry from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Works Ministries of Winter Haven. The Committal Graveside Service will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Fuller Heights (Mulberry), FL.
